Just the other day Viltrox started teasing a new full-frame f/1.4 Pro lens, and it looks like the company is finally getting ready to release its long-awaited AF 35mm f/1.4 Pro. The teaser itself is pretty straightforward. It shows the numbers 50 and 85, referring to the already available 50mm f/1.4 Pro and 85mm f/1.4 Pro, with a question mark sitting between them. Above that, the words “F1.4” and “Pro” are visible. While Viltrox has not officially confirmed the focal length yet, everything points toward the missing lens being the 35mm f/1.4 Pro.

The lens itself is not exactly new to us. Viltrox already showed the AF 35mm f/1.4 Pro at the China P&E 2026 exhibition back in May, where a Sony FE-mount version was on display. That early version had a dedicated aperture ring, along with a 77mm filter thread, a minimum focusing distance of 0.3 meters, a VCM autofocus system and an all-metal body. However, Viltrox did not share much else about the lens at the time. We still do not know the exact optical construction, weight or dimensions, so it will be interesting to see how it compares with the existing 50mm and 85mm Pro lenses.

The upcoming 35mm would also fill the last gap in Viltrox’s full-frame Pro series, giving users the familiar combination of 35mm, 50mm and 85mm f/1.4 primes (the holy trinity). Based on the earlier prototype, the lens is expected to arrive for Sony E-mount first, with a Nikon Z-mount version possibly following later. As for pricing, the existing 50mm and 85mm Pro lenses suggest that the new 35mm could end up somewhere in the $600-$700 range.
