Thypoch’s Voyager 24-50mm f/2.8 Coming To Z-Mount?

Thypoch seems to be getting ready to release its Voyager 24-50mm f/2.8 autofocus zoom for Nikon Z-mount, after originally launching the lens exclusively for Sony E-mount. For a short time, the Nikon version appeared on the company’s website yesterday, suggesting that an official release might not be too far away. Thypoch had already mentioned plans to bring the lens to Nikon Z and L-Mount back in April, so this is not exactly a surprise. Interestingly, the website also listed Leica, Fujifilm and Canon among the available mounts, although those are probably just leftover entries from the online shop’s standard template and not confirmation of more versions.
The Voyager 24-50mm f/2.8 is a fairly compact full-frame zoom with a constant f/2.8 aperture and an internal zoom design, meaning the lens stays the same length when zooming in or out. The existing Sony version measures 92.8mm long, weighs 432g and takes 67mm filters. Inside, there are 16 elements in 13 groups, along with a 10-blade aperture. As for how the lens actually performs, tests of the Sony version have shown very good sharpness in the centre at 24mm, even when shooting wide open, although the corners are noticeably softer. At 50mm, sharpness drops a little more at f/2.8. Autofocus, build quality and the relatively low amount of focus breathing have received more positive feedback.
And it looks like Thypoch has quite a few more autofocus lenses in the works. The company has already announced plans for six autofocus lenses and recently teased three more upcoming models, apparently including two zooms. One of those could be the 24-70mm that was mentioned earlier this year, while another is rumoured to be an APS-C prime for Fujifilm X-mount. Pricing and an exact release date for the new Nikon Z-mount version have not been announced yet, but for comparison the Sony E-mount version currently costs around $640.
