ZEISS Comeback is Confirmed! Zeiss is officially back and they are ramping up the hype for their new Otus 50mm f/1.4 Lens, set to be fully revealed on February 25. After a cryptic teaser last week, new videos confirm key details: it’s an Otus lens, it has classic yellow markings, and it’ll be available for Sony E and Canon RF mounts (Nikon Z remains a mystery).

The design is a bit different from past Otus lenses, featuring a manual aperture ring, engraved focus markings, and a big focus ring. One clue from the teaser suggests a minimum focus distance of around 3 feet (0.9m), with 0.06x magnification—less than the older Otus 55mm f/1.4.

Specs, price, and release details are still under wraps, but preorders open on February 25 at 8 AM ET.
