Sirui’s new Swift 20mm f/2.4 and 40mm f/2.2 autofocus prime lenses are here, following earlier teasers from the company. Both lenses cover full-frame sensors and are available for Sony E, Leica L and Fujifilm X mounts. The 20mm offers a 91.5-degree field of view, while the 40mm has a narrower 55.86-degree view. On Fujifilm’s APS-C cameras, the lenses work out to approximately 30mm and 60mm in full-frame terms.

Looking at the specifications, the Swift 20mm f/2.4 uses 11 elements in nine groups, and the 40mm f/2.2 has 11 elements in eight groups. Both have nine aperture blades, can stop down to f/16 and use STM autofocus motors. The 20mm can focus as close as 20cm, with a maximum magnification of 0.136x, while the 40mm focuses down to 40cm and offers 0.14x magnification. There is also a 58mm filter thread on both lenses, which is convenient if you want to share filters between them. Other features include an AF/MF switch, a function button and a clicked aperture ring. The manual focus rings also offer 360 degrees of rotation.

As for size and weight, there is not much difference between the two. In Sony E mount, the 20mm measures 62.3mm in length and weighs 207g, while the 40mm is just slightly heavier at 210g. The Leica L versions are a little shorter at around 60mm, weighing 212g and 215g, respectively. Both lenses have a diameter of approximately 69.5mm. Neither lens is particularly fast compared to the many f/1.4 primes already available, but that also helps keep the size and weight down. Of course, we will have to see how well they actually perform, especially when it comes to autofocus and sharpness toward the edges. Both the Sirui Swift 20mm f/2.4 and 40mm f/2.2 are priced at $149 each.
