Pergear’s New 10mm f/5.6 II Fisheye Lens

Pergear’s new 10mm f/5.6 II lens is here. It is an updated version of the company’s manual-focus fisheye lens for mirrorless cameras. The second generation keeps the same ultra-wide 172-degree field of view and compact pancake design, but introduces a few improvements to the construction and optical coatings. One of the biggest changes is the new all-metal body, replacing the previous design with something a little more substantial while keeping the weight down to 120g. The lens measures 32mm long and 50mm in diameter.
Optically, the Pergear 10mm f/5.6 II uses six elements in five groups, with an improved multi-layer coating designed to reduce flare and ghosting while maintaining better contrast. There is also a new integrated petal-shaped lens hood, which helps protect the front element and limits unwanted stray light. The lens has a fixed f/5.6 aperture, so there is no aperture adjustment, and focusing is entirely manual with minimum focusing distance at 15cm.
The lens is primarily designed for smaller sensor formats, with a 15mm equivalent focal length on APS-C cameras and approximately 20mm on Micro Four Thirds, although the actual field of view depends on the sensor format. Pergear lists compatibility with Fujifilm X, Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF, Canon EOS-M and Micro Four Thirds. The Pergear 10mm f/5.6 II is priced at $69.
