Meike’s New AF 58mm f/1.2 Lens Is Here

Meike’s new AF 58mm f/1.2 APS-C lens is here, after being shown for the first time at the 2026 NAB Show earlier this year. The lens is available for Sony E, Nikon Z and Fujifilm X mounts and gives a full-frame equivalent focal length of approximately 87mm on Sony and Nikon APS-C cameras, or 88mm on Fujifilm. With its f/1.2 maximum aperture, it is also one of the faster autofocus portrait lenses available for these APS-C systems. The aperture can be stopped down to f/16, while the lens has a horizontal angle of view of approximately 27.2 degrees on APS-C cameras.
Inside, the Meike AF 58mm f/1.2 uses 14 elements arranged in 10 groups, along with an 11-blade aperture diaphragm. The minimum focusing distance is 62cm, and there is also a 62mm front filter thread. Meike has published MTF charts showing how the lens is expected to perform at f/1.2 and f/8. Looking at those charts, contrast seems to hold up quite well across most of the frame when shooting wide open, although there is some drop in finer detail toward the edges. The f/8 charts show a bit more variation across the frame, particularly in the higher-frequency measurements. Of course, these are Meike’s own figures, so we will have to wait for actual tests to see how sharp the lens really is.
As for size, the lens measures 76mm in diameter and 90mm in length. The Sony E and Fujifilm X versions weigh approximately 450g, while the Nikon Z version is just slightly heavier at 455g. The lens also comes in four finishes, black, white, black and white, and silver. The Meike AF 58mm f/1.2 comes in at $449 for all three mounts.
