Imagen’s New Intelligent Studio

Imagen’s Intelligent Studio is here. It is a new post-production workspace that combines manual RAW editing with the company’s existing AI tools. One of the main differences is that it does not force you through the usual cull, edit and export workflow in a fixed order. You can move between those stages however you want. It is also the first time Imagen has included a full manual RAW editing workspace, with controls for tone, colour, detail, lens corrections and creative adjustments.
A big part of Intelligent Studio is the new AI Assistant, which lets you search for photos and make edits using written instructions. You could ask it to find a particular group of photos, duplicate them and turn the copies black and white, for example. More specific instructions are possible too, such as changing only the highlights, adjusting a particular colour on selected subjects across multiple photos, or changing the same colour tone across everything shot at a particular location. Imagen’s existing personalised AI profiles are part of this as well, with the system learning from your own manual edits over time rather than applying the same generic editing style to everyone.
How much of the process is automated is still up to you. The AI can simply help with an initial cull or first round of adjustments, while everything else is edited manually, or it can take on a much larger part of the workflow. Intelligent Studio is available through two pricing options. The pay-as-you-go plan starts at $7 per month, with exported photos starting at $0.05 each, while the Limitless plan costs $129 per month when billed annually.
