Thypoch is starting to reveal more about its upcoming Voyager 24–50mm f/2.8, ahead of its official announcement on May 14. It is one of the company’s first autofocus zoom lenses, and from the specs so far, it looks pretty decent.

On the technical side, the lens covers a 24–50mm focal range with a constant f/2.8 aperture, giving a field of view between 83° and 47°. The optical design uses 16 elements in 13 groups, which is fairly complex for a lens like this and suggests an effort to keep image quality consistent across the zoom range. It also features a 10-blade diaphragm and stops down to f/22. The minimum focusing distance is 0.3 meters, with a maximum magnification of 0.216x, so it can handle closer shots, though it is not really intended for macro use.

In terms of size, the lens comes in at 92.8 × 70 mm and weighs around 450 grams, with a 67mm filter thread. It uses an autofocus system, although there is still no information on the type of motor being used. It will be available for Sony E, Nikon Z, and Leica L mounts, with an expected price of around $700. Thypoch is also planning to expand further into autofocus lenses, with five additional models reportedly in development.
