Godox’s New Thinklite Camera Flash

Godox has announced the new TT350II Thinklite TTL Camera Flash, an updated version of the compact TT350 that first came out almost a decade ago. One of the bigger changes is the new hybrid hot shoe, which allows the same flash to work with cameras from different manufacturers. The standard TT350II supports Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm and OM System/Panasonic cameras, while Sony users will need the separate TT350II S version. So it is not completely universal, but at least you do not need a different flash for every camera brand. Godox also replaced the old monochrome screen with a new HD colour display, which shows the settings using different colours to make them easier to distinguish. There are still physical controls underneath, including four buttons and a dial for changing settings.
The TT350II also uses Godox’s 2.4 GHz Wireless X System, meaning it can work as both a transmitter and receiver. You can use it to control other compatible Godox flashes and studio strobes or trigger the TT350II remotely with another device. The wireless connection has a reported range of approximately 100 meters. As for the flash functions, there is TTL automatic exposure, manual power control, high-speed sync (HSS), front- and rear-curtain synchronisation, as well as a stroboscopic mode. There is also a USB-C port for firmware updates. Another addition is the built-in LED modeling light, which can help you get a rough idea of where the light and shadows will fall before taking a photo.
When it comes to the actual flash performance, the TT350II covers focal lengths from 24mm to 105mm and has a guide number of 36 meters at ISO 100. According to Godox, you can expect around 210 flashes from two 2500mAh NiMH AA batteries, with a full-power recycling time of approximately 2.5 seconds. Flash duration ranges from 1/600s to 1/25,000s, depending on the power setting. The Godox TT350II Thinklite TTL Camera Flash is priced at $84.90.
