DJI has announced the Power 2000, its most powerful portable battery system to date. With a base capacity of 2,048Wh and support for up to ten additional 2kWh expansion batteries, the system can scale up to a total of 22,528Wh. At full capacity, DJI says it can recharge a digital camera 118 times, a laptop nearly 20 times, or a DJI drone 24 times, numbers that indicate a clear focus on long-duration, off-grid creative work, from things like astrophotography all the way to multi-day video shoots.
Weighing 22 kilograms (quite beefy), the main unit includes four AC outlets, four USB-C ports, and four USB-A ports. It maintains a 3000-watt output, which DJI claims is enough to power over 99% of household appliances. Recharging options include standard grid power, a car alternator, or solar panels. Using grid power, the unit can reach 80% in 55 minutes and full charge in 90 minutes. The system supports hybrid charging as well, meaning users can combine solar and grid power to increase flexibility in remote locations.
DJI says the Power 2000 was developed in direct response to increased demand from users relying on DJI products in outdoor and professional settings. While the company previously released the Power 500 and Power 1000, this latest model significantly expands on both storage and output. Pricing is at $1,299.
