Photographer and app developer Drew Mylrea just dropped Range Camera, a new iPhone app. Unlike the default camera app, Range Camera skips Apple’s aggressive sharpening and HDR tricks, keeping things clean and real. It shoots in Bayer RAW or ProRAW (depending on your phone and lighting), so you get better details and colours.

The app also has a built-in editor (Range Darkroom), where you can tweak exposure, highlights, and colours. When you're done, it saves a small HEIC file and tosses the RAW into the trash (recoverable for 30 days), so your storage doesn’t blow up.

Mylrea describes the look as “Fujifilm point-and-shoot vibes”—richer colors, preserved highlights, and natural skin tones. The goal? A dead-simple, no-fuss app you’ll actually want to use. Range Camera is free to try (20 shots), then it's $1.99/month or $19.99/year.
