Leaked Sketches Reveal Fujifilm X-T6 Design

New detailed sketches have given us one of our clearest looks yet at the upcoming Fujifilm X-T6, including a few interesting changes to the controls. Exactly when we will actually see the camera is still unclear. A September 2026 announcement had been rumoured for quite some time, but Fujifilm reportedly pushed the launch back. That means an announcement before the end of the year is still possible, although early 2027 is looking increasingly realistic. So in the meantime, let’s focus on the leaked drawings.

One of the biggest details is the rear screen. Fujifilm appears to be sticking with a three-way tilting display instead of moving to a fully articulating screen that swings out from the side. There are some changes to the physical controls, though. The top dials appear to sit slightly deeper inside the body, which could make them easier to reach and rotate with your thumb while holding the camera. There has already been some discussion about whether those recessed areas could collect dust, dirt or sand, but that is obviously impossible to judge properly from sketches alone. There is also no dedicated Film Simulation dial visible, while the familiar Still/Movie switch remains. The rear D-pad has been redesigned as well and no longer appears to use four completely separate directional buttons.

Overall, it does not look like Fujifilm is completely redesigning the X-T series. Instead, the X-T6 seems to keep the familiar photography-focused layout while making smaller ergonomic changes around it. What is still very much up in the air are the final sensor, processor, autofocus specifications, video capabilities, and (of course) the price.
