Cameras are getting pricey, and Fujifilm knows it. That’s why they’re thinking about more affordable options for young people who might otherwise grab a second-hand camera.
According to Yuji Igarashi (Fujifilm's Divisional Manager), a lot of new Fujifilm users aren’t coming from other cameras—they’re coming straight from smartphones. That means they want something different, not just another expensive model. Fujifilm sees a real demand for compact cameras, especially since older digital cameras are blowing up thanks to their nostalgic vibe. If they can make a new one with that same charm, they think it could be a hit.
At the end of the day, they believe using a real camera just feels better—more intentional, more emotional. Nothing official yet, but it sounds like Fujifilm might have something up its sleeve.
